5 best insurance tips for millennials

5 best insurance tips for millennials

Adulting (verb) - acting like an adult or engaging in activities usually associated with adulthood, often responsible or boring tasks.1
If you’re a millennial, you know this definition all too well. You’ve reached the age where you may be taking out student loans, buying or renting a place to live, having kids and, ultimately, purchasing insurance. These major life events for millennials make it extremely important to have a financial security net. And that’s exactly what insurance is: a financial security net. So it’s troubling that a survey from Princeton Survey Research Associates International named millennials the most underinsured generation.

There are many reasons why people of all generations avoid purchasing insurance. It‘s often seen as a big investment, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s an expensive one. In fact, insurance probably costs less than you think. For instance, according to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), millennials overestimated the cost of renters insurance by more than five times its actual cost per year.
Also, the complicated terms can make finding a policy a puzzling experience and the subject matter can be tough to digest. No one wants to think about being in a car accident, experiencing a break in, losing everything in an apartment fire or any other sort of bad, unexpected event. But these things can happen, so you’ll want to be prepared.
And don’t let any initial confusion or preconceived notions drive you away. You’re a millennial, after all! Your generation is always tackling new challenges and expanding the way the world works, oftentimes in brilliant ways.
Insurance provides essential financial protection for your future, so now’s the time to start “adulting” and take that first step.
Here are five tips for buying insurance:

  1. Shop smart. When looking for insurance, your No. 1 priority should be to find adequate coverage. Price is important, but you’ll want to determine what kind of coverage you need first. Then you can fit that coverage into your budget and determine which carrier can provide you with the most comprehensive policy for your situation. You may be tempted to choose insurance with the lowest price tag, but if you don’t have enough coverage (or the right kind of coverage), you will see less financial benefit when it comes time to file a claim.
  2. Look for discounts. Once you evaluate your coverage needs, factor in your budget and find ways to save. Ask your insurance agent if there are any discounts on your coverage. Often, carriers offer discounts for things like paying your policy in full, staying auto accident-free or, if you’re in school, getting good grades. You also can save money by “bundling” multiple policies, such as purchasing a home and auto policy from the same carrier.
  3. Fill in the gaps. An average policy will cover the basics, but you may need to add extra coverage to meet your unique needs. For instance, you may have items like electronics or a nice piece of jewelry that would be financially difficult to replace, even with the assistance of your average renters or homeowners policy. You may want to add additional coverage for these items.
  4. Purchase life insurance—you aren’t too young. Life insurance is essential, no matter how young or old you are. And for millennials, buying now may be a smart move because it’s cheaper to buy a life insurance policy when you’re young and healthy. This kind of insurance can help your family cover unexpected costs in your absence, including student loan debt or a mortgage, in addition to end-of-life costs. And if you have kids, a life insurance policy can also support their education or childcare expenses. Additionally, every millennial should consider long-term disability coverage, which helps you stay afloat financially if an accident happens and you become disabled and unable to work.
  5. Talk to an independent agent. An independent insurance agent is an essential resource when purchasing insurance—especially if this is your first time. An independent agent works with multiple different carriers, which is different from captive agents who can only sell insurance from the carrier they work for. Working with an independent agent can help make sure that you are getting the best coverage, for the best price. You’ll also benefit from independent agents’ insurance knowledge; they know how to talk you through your options and actually explain what each policy includes. An independent agent will make sure all of your assets are covered, help you find discounts or other ways to save, and be a valuable resource as your life changes and your insurance needs change, too.

Realme 3 – An Impressive Budget Smartphone

Realme 3 – An Impressive Budget Smartphone

India has become a major attraction for smartphone makers. Brands like Xiaomi, Samsung, Vivo, Oppo already in the race to grab the most on this market. Realme has emerged recently into this market and able to grab a tiny piece of the market in less than a year. This is not by chance or fortune of luck. Realme has earned his spot.

Within a year, it has released the third generation of its signature series. After being an independent brand, Realme only focused on the budget range. After the remarkable success of Realme 2 series, the company has announced their latest series.
The company announced the Realme 3 at an event organized in New Delhi. We have seen a lot of teasers before the release and the tech geeks have waited for the official release.
Let’s see whether it a successor of the Realme 2 or having something new.

Realme 3 comes with many upgrades and new features. Let’s see the detail features of this phone.Realme 3 detail features

Design

Realme series phones come with the plastic body design. Realme 3 also retains the streak. But Realme surprises with the colors. The dynamic Black and Radiant Blue paint jobs distract you.
It uses a unibody design the curve on the sides is sharp enough to provide for some grip. It is made of durable plastic with a glossy finish that gives the phone a premium look. It comes with a weight of 175g, and with the dimensions 156.1 x 75.6 x 8.3 mm. It will perfectly fit the palm and is comfortable for one-handed use.

Let’s the physical overview of the phone. The display of the phone is 6.2 inch IPS LCD display with waterdrop notch. Realme 3 has a lower HD+ resolution screen. The right side of the phone contains the power lock-unlock button. There is nothing on the top side of the phone. On the left side of the phone has the volume up and down button and SIM tray. The tri-slot can take two nano-SIM and one microSD cards.
The bottom side of the phone contains speaker grill, loudspeaker, micro USB port and your favorite 3.5 mm audio jack.
On the back side of the phone, you will find the vertically aligned camera unit. It has a dual camera setup with LED flash. The whole camera unit setup is humping just a little bit. The fingerprint scanner is also at the back side of the phone.

Display

Realme 3 has a 6.2 inch IPS LCD display with waterdrop notch. Realme 3 has a lower HD+ resolution screen i.e 720 x 1520 pixels. We shouldn’t expect too much from a 720p resolution in this price range. The display is protected by the Corning Glass 3.
The waterdrop notch doesn’t eat into the content while consuming video or playing game. The display comes with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The “chin” at the bottom of the screen is quite larger. But it is not a big deal, especially not for this price range.

Camera And Sensor

As a successor of Realme 2, you can see some camera upgrades. Realme 3 comes with dual rear camera setup. The camera unit also comes with a LED flash.
It is a combo of 13MP + 2MP camera. The 13MP primary camera f/1.8 lens and the 2MP secondary camera is for depth sensing.
The camera app comes with AI scene recognition. Through the software, it can detect food, grass, snow, pets, sunsets, among other scenes. The accuracy percentage is good enough.
The camera app also has three major modes like Photo, Portrait, and Video. Chrome Boost HDR and flash settings are also there. The Chrome Boost is like an advanced HDR mode.
The hamburger menu of camera app has some shooting modes like Expert (manual settings), Time-lapse, Pano, Slow-motion, and Nightscape. Realme is touting the new AI-powered ‘Nightscape’ mode. Unfortunately, as per our camera test, we have found that Chroma Boost and HDR mode performing better than the Nightscape. So we may expect that Realme will improve it through a software update.
Let’s come to the selfie camera. There is a 13MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 lens. The camera is in the waterdrop notch cutout. There is no dedicated front flash or anything else fancy.
Without any fancy item, it is good enough to take nice selfies. The excellent HDR mode does their work and properly. The selfie cam also offers your favorite bokeh mode. Photos clicked with this effect are social networks ready. The AI-powered beautification mode is also there.
Apart from the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner Realme 3 includes Face Unlock, 3D face recognition, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, and Gyroscope.

Processor And Performances

Realme 3 houses a MediaTek Helio P70 processor. The P70 CPU has 4xA73 cores and clocked at 2.1GHz. For outside India users, Realme 3 will have MediaTek Helio P60 processor. It is powered by Mali-G72 MP3 GPU.
The performance of the GPU, it is quite impressive and it is just below the Redmi Note 7 on benchmark test. The Realme 3 beats everything in its price bracket when it comes to graphics because of its lower screen resolution.
This phone is not for hardcore gamers. But you can enjoy some gaming on this budget.

Software

The Realme 3 is the first smartphone to run on Oppo’s latest Color OS 6. The ROM is based on Android 9 Pie. The new OS looks very clean with easy app layouts.
The new Color OS is focused on a light color scheme. Through the OS you will see a white backdrop with light color gradients. This also uses a new font style, Oppo Sans.
Like other major OS, Color OS is getting an app drawer. It will be reflected in the upcoming Oppo phone. But it is available in Realme 3 by default.
ColorOS 6.0 has a built-in machine learning system that will freeze apps in the background instead of completely closing them. Using machine learning, it will analyze your app activity for 2 weeks and try to learn your habits in the day to day life.
The fingerprint sensor is always-on. You can also use face unlock in addition to fingerprint for more security. Both are fast and accurate.

Battery And Connectivity

The Realme 3 is powered by a big 4,230 mAh battery. It has the same capacity as the Realme 2 was.
The battery supports regular 5V/2A charging. 10W charger restores 30% of battery in 40 minutes. At least we don’t have to expect more in this price range.
The combination of Android 9 and a low-resolution display is going to give you some serious longevity in battery life.
In certain battery test, The Realme 3 scored an excellent result. According to the test, it has a 108-hour Endurance rating.
Connectivity options include in Realme 3 are Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, micro USB, 3G, and 4G.

RAM And Storage

Realme 3 comes in two different variants. The base variant is 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage and the high-end variant has 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage option.
You expand the memory up to 256GB via SD card slot.

Release Date, Color and Price

Realme 3 was launched on 4th March. The sale starts on 12th March through Flipkart. Flipkart already listed the phone in its site.
The 3GB RAM + 32GB variant costs Rs. 8,999 (~$125) and the 4GB RAM + 64GB variant costs 10,999 (~$155).
This device will be available in three different colors like Black, Dynamic Black, Radiant Blue.

Conclusion

In first sight, Realme 3 seems and feels like a budget phone. But the market is already competitive in this price bracket and Realme 3 have missed some key points. To be honest, it is a good phone in this range and will cross some milestones of its precursors as well.
USB type-C post and the 1080p display would feel the Realme 3 more modern. We are getting strong rumors that indicating the release of Realme 3 Pro. Some reports clam that it will arrive in April this year. We can expect these upgrades in the upcoming Realme 3 Pro.

Xiaomi Mi 9 With 48MP Rear Camera, Snapdragon 855 Launched

Xiaomi Mi 9 With 48MP Rear Camera, Snapdragon 855 Launched
The 2019 Mobile World Congress (MWC) is going to be the witness of many amazing tech products. So, Xiaomi decided to introduce its this year’s flagship in that event too. Though Xaomi Mi 9 was already unveiled in China earlier this week still company decided to show off Mi9 along with its first commercial 5G smartphone – Xiaomi Mi Mix 5G in MWC 2019.

like previous Xiaomi flagships, the Mi 9 comes with an extremely attractive curved back and impressive screen-to-body ratio along with some terrific hardware that includes a 48MP Sony IMX586 camera and the latest Snapdragon 855 processor, making it one of the flagships to beat this year.
Xiaomi Mi 9 detail features
As Mi 9 is company’s latest flagship phone of this year, so it is clear that Xiaomi’s eye on to positioned the phone as a competitor to other devices in terms of its camera and capture worldwide audiences as much as possible.
Design
Starting with the design, Xiaomi Mi 9 is a really stunning device. Like the other flagships of these days, it is slim, made up of curved glass on the back which seamlessly blends with thin metal frames. Due to curved back design, it became more comfortable fit in hand when twisting and turning the device into various angles for the camera. The company has paid very close attention to the rear panel to make the device stand out.
It comes with a weight of 173g, and with thin dimensions 157.5 x 74.7 x 7.6 mm It becomes more pleasant to hold and play with.
The back of the phone is mostly clean and covered by Gorilla glass 5 which is bent towards the frame. A triple camera array with LED flash is placed at the top left corner of back. If you hold the phone in the right angles, you will able see the unique “Halo ring” accent around the top 48MP camera sensor that gives really cool looks in the multi-colored pattern.

On the front, Mi 9 features a 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a small water-drop-style notch and a thin chin. Corning gorilla glass 6 is there to protect your screen. Here Mi9 used the UD fingerprint reader which is hidden under the screen.
On the right side of the phone, there is volume rocker and power placed correctly to your reach. The left side holds the SIM tray and an AI button, which launches the Google Assistant on international units and the company’s own Xiao AI.
The bottom part of the phone houses a speaker grill, primary microphone and USB-C type port for charging and data sharing. The loving 3.5mm headphone jack is missing on the Mi 9, as Xiaomi retired the headphone jack a few years ago.
Display
The Xiaomi Mi 9 features a 19.5:9 aspect ratio type 6.39-inch super AMOLED display with the resolution of 4080×2340 pixels and 402ppi pixel density.
The only distraction you come across on the screen is the water-drop-style U-shaped notch, otherwise, the display is great and you will enjoy pretty immersive views on it.

It is protected by Corning Gorilla glass 6 – the most shatter-resistant glass in the smartphone world right now. Again it supports HDR 10.
The AMOLED panel offers a very decent brightness of 430nits but it can reach up to 620 nits in bright light if you enable the auto brightness mode. There is also support for High Brightness Mode and Sunlight 2.0 enhance the display for outdoor using.
We all know that Mi9 brings the in-display fingerprint sensor but there is an improvement. It apparently unlocks the phone up to 25% faster compared to the predecessor Mi 8.
Camera And Sensor
The triple rear camera setup on the back of Mi 9 includes a 48MP Sony IMX586 1/2          primary sensor of aperture f/1.75, a 12MP telephoto sensor of aperture f/2.2 for 2X optical zoom and a 16MP ultra-wide-angle sensor of aperture f/2.2 which is capable to capture 117° field View.
There is a LED flash sits right under the triple camera array for low light enhancement.
The Sony IMX586 48MP sensor uses a Quad Bayer arrangement, which essentially acts as a 12MP sensor with very large 1.6µm pixels to draw more light and increase the performance. It works similarly that we have seen in

The Night Mode is also available on the Xiaomi Mi 9 for those long-exposure hand-held shots when the light is really dimmed.
As per the DxOMark result, Mi 9 is the third best smartphone in capturing high-quality images. It is just one point behind the brand new Samsung Galaxy S10, which is costs nearly twice the price of Mi9.
On Xiaomi Mi 9 you can able captures videos up to 4K @60fps, and other common modes are available – 4K@30fps and 1080p@30fps.
The DxOMark result for videos in which Mi9 scored 99, is the best smartphone so far available for taking videos, says Xiaomi.
On the front in the water drop notch, there is a 20MP selfie shooter of aperture f/2.2 with fixed focus. It supports portrait and various other modes.
Apart from the under-display fingerprint scanner Xiaomi Mi 9 includes Face Unlock, 3D face recognition, Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, and Gyroscope.
Processor And Performances
This flagship is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset. It is one of the most powerful processors and promised to deliver 45% higher performance over its predecessor.
This new 855 chipset uses an 8-core CPU design with 1x ultra-high-performance Kryo 485 Gold core (Cortex-A76 derivative) clocked at 2.84GHz, 3x high-performance Kryo 485 Gold at 2.42GHz, and 4x power-efficient Kryo 485 Silver cores (Cortex-A55 derivative) clocked at 1.8GHz.
It can handle intensive apps and multitasking without any hassle and with the presence of Adreno 640 GPU, you will get more effective performance than ever before.
Software
Xiaomi Mi 9 runs on top of Android 9 Pie and company’s own latest MIUI 10. Here MIUI 10 improves further the system looks, gestures, and performance. So, if you already familiar with MIUI 10, then it will become rather easy to operate.
There are some remarkable visual changes in MIUI 10 which include refined system icons, Android Pie-styled volume sliders, and brightness sliders, notification shade, and quick shortcuts.

Another new feature added in MIUI 10 is the Picture in Picture (PIP) mode which can be enabled for each compatible app from the Additional Privacy Settings. Currently, it works on some apps like Google Chrome, Movies, Maps, YouTube, Duo, Instagram, Opera, Messenger, and VLC.
Surprisingly Xiaomi Mi 9 introduces a system Dark mode which will switch all the white system colors to black. As a result, you can able a lot of battery juice. As of now, not all apps support the dark mode, but the majority do.
You won’t find any app drawer in this latest UI, where all the apps are just sitting there on your home screen no doubt you can still add them to folders. However, you can able to install a third-party launcher to bring the app drawer back.
Battery And Connectivity
Xiaomi Mi 9 backed with a 3,300mAh battery under the hood. Which is 100mAh less than the predecessor Mi 8.
It supports both wired and wireless charging. Inside the box, it comes with an 18W fast charger which can take the 3,300mAh battery from 0% to 45% in just 30 minutes.
But if that speed is not enough for you, by spending just extra $20 you can purchase 20W wireless and 27W wired turbocharger as a part of Mi 9 wireless charger bundle.
Then by using the 27W wired turbocharger, you can charge the Mi 9 from 0% to 70% in just 30 minutes and it takes 65 minutes to fully charge.
If you use the 20w wireless charging pad, it takes 30 minutes to boost the battery from 0% to 30%. Which is not impressive and nowhere near the 18W wired charger performance that came with the phone.
Standby time of Mi 9 is amazing, it is 91 hours. It can also last up to 10 hours of web browsing or 19 hours of video playback.
Connectivity options include in Xiaomi Mi 9 are Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, USB Type-C, 3G and 4G.
RAM And Storage
Though Mi 9 not offers you expandable storage options it comes with an impressive internal storage option.
Xiaomi Mi 9 comes in three different variants. The base variant is 6GB RAM + 64GB internal storage or the 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage option.
The high-end variant includes 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage. As per some report, there will be a 12GB RAM variant will be released in the Chinese market.
Release Date, Color and Price
Xiaomi Mi 9 has been announced earlier in China and the international announcement came on 24th  February and is available for Pre-orders also. It will go on sale from 28th February in Europe.
There is no official declaration has come from the company, but considering Xiaomi’s back approach the Mi 9 may not launch in India.
The price of Mi 9 starts at €449 (which is roughly $500, £390, AU$715, ₹36,460) for the 6GB RAM and 64GB internal.
And for the 8GB RAM and 128GB internal variant, you’ll have to spend a little more at €499 (approximately about $550, £430, AU$800 ₹40,520).
This device will be available in different colors like Piano Black, Ocean Blue, and Lavender Violet and a faux Transparent Edition as well.

Conclusion
Overall, there are a lot of exciting features like slim design, Snapdragon 855 SoC, 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor, an under-display fingerprint sensor that makes Xiaomi Mi 9 an attractive flagship in the price range of 449 Euro.
Though it is the first device with Snapdragon 855 SoC for the global market so, Xiaomi is on the way to catch flagship market moods and trying to beat competitors at their own games in the global market.
